How to rotate PDF pages

Sideways pages are the most common defect in scanned documents. A feeder picks up a sheet the wrong way round, a phone camera guesses the orientation incorrectly, or a spreadsheet is exported in landscape inside a portrait document. Rotating fixes all of it, and because rotation is stored as page metadata rather than a re-drawn image, it costs nothing in quality.

How to rotate PDF pages step by step

Step 1 — Upload the PDF

Step 2 — Rotate individual pages

Use the rotate control on a thumbnail to turn just that page. Each click adds 90°; four clicks return to the start.

Step 4 — Check the previews

Scan the thumbnail grid. The previews are what the exported file will look like, so anything that still reads sideways here will be sideways in the download.

Step 5 — Export

• Rotating the whole document when only the odd pages from a duplex scan are upside down.
